Role Overview
A ServiceNow Developer is a professional responsible for developing, configuring, and optimizing applications and configurations on the ServiceNow platform. This role involves designing and implementing new functionalities, ensuring the quality of developments, and applying best practices across the platform. It requires strong knowledge of ServiceNow modules, mastery of development and testing tools, and experience with frameworks such as the Automated Test Framework (ATF) to support validation and continuous improvement.
Role and Responsibilities
Solution Design
Design functional and technical solutions for new features and platform changes.
Development & Configuration
Develop and configure applications, workflows, and platform components in ServiceNow.
Development Validation
Ensure that fixes, updates, and new features comply with defined requirements.
Identifying and Tracking Issues
Detect, document, and track issues found during development and testing.
Using Specific Tools
Use ServiceNow's Automated Test Framework (ATF) to create and run automated tests for applications and workflows.
Required Skills and Knowledge
ServiceNow Expertise
Good knowledge of ServiceNow modules, particularly IT service management and IT operations management (ITSM/ITOM).
QA and Development Practices
Experience in test management, defect tracking, development validation, and test automation.
Testing Tools
Use of tools such as the ATF framework integrated into ServiceNow, or other automation tools like Selenium.
Analytical Skills
Ability to interpret data, identify problems, and recommend improvements to enhance platform quality.
