Counterparty Risk Team Leader
This is a leadership position that involves managing a team of counterparty risk analysts.
* Key Responsibilities
o Drive the analysis of credit counterparty risk generated by client activities
o Support and advise on portfolio review analysis performed by the team or produce own analysis when required
o Animate the book of work of the counterparty risk analysts team members guiding them between deep analysis work and reactivity in face of events and crisis
o Escalate concerns about the counterparty risk profile of any counterparty to the related RISK CCR managers
o Drive framework and methodology improvements in the analysis and controls of the counterparty and collateral risks
o Collaborate with Credit Officer and Senior Credit Officer in charge of Hedge Funds, other Financial Institutions or Corporates to understand their analysis needs
o Keep contact with market and valuation risk teams to stay updated on market developments
o Regularly engage with the monitoring, framework, reporting, supervisory or methodology teams working on counterparty risk to ensure proactive alignment of the CCR management responsibilities
o Participate to the review of the stress testing methodologies related to counterparty risks
o Build, Animate and coach the team of counterparty risk analysts in Lisbon and Porto
o Contribute to the hiring and onboarding of risk analysts to maintain a high-performing team in Lisbon and Porto
o Ensure the team deliver a high quality well controlled production service respecting deadlines, evidenced by KPI
o Foster a positive team culture that promotes delivery-focus, collaboration, accuracy, and innovation
o Lead and motivate team members to achieve employee engagement and develop performance, notably by setting and regularly reviewing SMART objectives for each team member
o Ensure the team is adequately staffed with a diverse level of experience and skills
o Actively contribute to the team's personal and professional development
o Provide training means to ensure proper execution of the monitoring, analysis and reporting tasks
o Anticipate on team members career evolution by regularly discussing such with them, coaching them to research and plan their next step
o Foster a common risk management and operational culture within the team and encourage fruitful interaction with other key stakeholders in CIB, CIB Operations, IT and RISK

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a Counterparty Risk Team Leader who has a strong background in risk and controls, data analytics, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Finance/Economics/Mathematics/Statistics or related, at least 7 years of experience in Risk and Controls or similar, and advanced level of English, both written and oral.
Profile and Skills to Success
Knowledge in MS Office Excel, Python, attention to detail/rigor, critical thinking, and proactivity are also essential.
