Job Description
Euronext, a leading pan-European market infrastructure company, is shaping capital markets for future generations. Its mission is to connect European economies with global capital markets, accelerating innovation and sustainable growth.
The company has expanded organically and externally, resulting in significant revenue growth from € million to €1.5 billion. It employs 2,000 individuals across 55 nationalities.
Due to rapid growth in data volumes and complexity, the company has transitioned from a centralized to a federated data governance model. Each business domain is responsible for implementing its own data governance program, with direction and support from the Group Data Governance team.
The Clearing domain seeks a Data Governance Lead to drive this initiative within its area. This pivotal role requires a self-starter with strong tenacity and business acumen — someone who can understand domain-specific needs and priorities, and shape a data governance program that delivers tangible value.
This position involves close collaboration with various stakeholders, including business lines, business data owners, data stewards, domain and group IT teams, and the Group Data Governance function.
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead meaningful change and help embed a culture of data ownership and accountability within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement data governance in the Clearing Business Line, ensuring business needs are identified and prioritized, and efforts align with organizational tools, policies, and frameworks defined by the Group Data Governance team.
* Contribute to the development, enhancement, and operationalization of data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to improve data quality, integrity, lineage, security, and accessibility.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies, proactively identifying and mitigating risks related to data governance.
* Monitor, measure, and enforce data governance practices across the domain, ensuring consistent adoption and adherence to best practices.
* Collaborate with business data owners, data stewards, and key business stakeholders to establish clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability for data management.
* Support metadata management and data catalog initiatives, ensuring accurate documentation of data assets, ownership, and governance workflows.
* Support data quality programs to identify, assess, remediate, and prevent data quality issues that hinder business objectives.
Team Management
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data professionals, including data analysts and data stewards.
* Set clear team goals, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback.
* Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment to achieve departmental objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or master's degree in data science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or other STEM disciplines, with 7+ years of professional experience in data governance and management, including 2-3 years in a data governance and management role.
Strong knowledge of data governance principles and practices, excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment, and familiarity with database technologies and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) are also required.
Desirable skills include experience with data visualization tools and techniques, and familiarity with Artificial Intelligence-related topics.
