Fixed Asset Specialist Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage capital investment projects, including budgeting and tracking.
* Maintain the fixed asset system for accounting, processing, and reporting purposes.
* Record fixed asset acquisitions and disposals in the accounting system.
Accounting and Financial Management:
* Compile project costs into fixed asset accounts and close out those accounts once related projects are completed.
* Generate monthly depreciation postings and review detailed schedules of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
* Support the transfer of AUC balances to the Fixed Assets sub-ledger through close coordination with local business teams.
Reporting and Compliance:
* Monitor and report monthly capital expenditures to management.
* Produce monthly and annual Fixed Assets account reports to stakeholders.
* Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management or business units.
Assistance and Support:
* Participate in periodic physical counts of fixed assets.
* Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger on a monthly basis.
* Perform quarterly account reconciliations on Blackline to ensure accuracy and compliance of reported Fixed Asset balances.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Support financial audit (internal/external) and tax filing activities.
* Manage internal queries and address employee concerns.
* Regularly monitor work output quality and make recommendations for improvement.
Standard Operating Procedures:
* Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to fixed assets.
* Identify process harmonization and improvement opportunities.
